Choosing the Right Teeth Whitening Procedure for You
If you are considering undergoing a teeth whitening procedure, it is important that you determine which teeth whitening procedure will suit your needs the best, depending on your dental history. The two types of procedures are as follows: bleach based and non bleached based.
Bleach based teeth whitening is usually recommended for people who have had
some sort of dental work done to their teeth, such as a root canal. A bleach
based teeth whitening procedure in most cases will be beneficial because
teeth that have had work to done to them will usually need a stronger, more
thorough procedure that can only be reached through bleaching. This teeth
whitening procedure will involve your dentist filling your mouth with a
special teeth whitening chemical that gradually whitens the teeth. In most
cases, results can be seen almost immediately.
The second type of whitening procedure, non-bleach whitening, is the most
popular type of teeth whitening procedure and the one you will typically see
in advertisements. In this procedure, you will be required to wear a
mouthpiece that contains a special chemical gel. You will have to wear the
mouthpiece for a particular amount of time, from a few hours to overnight.
Non-bleach whitening methods do not require you to go visit your dentist, if
you are on a limited budget, cannot find the time to visit the dentist, or
do not like visiting the dentist, this method is your best option. However,
if you have a dental history or have had any dental wok done, you will need
to visit a dentist as he is the only one who can tell you what exactly you
need done to whiten your teeth. A non-bleach whitening treatment can easily
be found at your local drug store and will not cost you an arm and a leg
like bleach whitening treatments.
